We recently learned that some Identity Kitchen work will be published in Impressive: Printmaking, Letterpress and Graphic Design, Edited by R. Klanten and H. Hellige, and published by Gestalten Books. You can read more about, or order Impressive here. We’re looking forward to receiving our copy, and getting a little inspired!

We try and be as green as possible over at IDK. My theory is if you have to print make it worth it. Oh, and use Anemone Letterpress . I guess someone else thought so also. The transparently debossed/letterpressed cards we did for Justine Ungaro are being featured on FPO (for print only). It is a really wonderful inspirational blog dedicated to all things printed. We are thrilled and honored. Thank you!

Purple is the New Green

Working on Tricia B’s identity has been such a soothing experience. She is so wonderful to work with and open to new ideas. We created a look for her that was a bit French Provence, thus the lavender. When she said that environmental issues and elevating her brand are a priority, we thought letterpress and this amazing flower paper. Since we used the lavender motif in her logo we decided to print her gift certificates on this beautiful (and great smelling) flower paper. That way once her clients use them she can give them back to be planted in their garden. A beautiful flower patch can be a sweet smelling memory of their session together.

Here’s a quick one, but just to show the power of letterpress. Amanda Kraft came to me with her brand in place. She is a PA based wedding and portrait photographer who has been featured in The Knot and Style Me Pretty. She wanted business cards and notecards to drive home her very upscale and classic style. She also wanted cards that spoke volumes of how very special her photography is. The design is very simple, and we printed both pieces on 220# lettra, which made a nice deep impression. The final reminds me of a gorgeous whisper. Carrie at Anemone Letterpress hit this one out of the park once again. Thank you Amanda!
