We try and be as green as possible over at IDK. My theory is if you have to print make it worth it. Oh, and use Anemone Letterpress . I guess someone else thought so also. The transparently debossed/letterpressed cards we did for Justine Ungaro are being featured on FPO (for print only). It is a really wonderful inspirational blog dedicated to all things printed. We are thrilled and honored. Thank you!

Categories: awards and accoladesWorking on Tricia B’s identity has been such a soothing experience. She is so wonderful to work with and open to new ideas. We created a look for her that was a bit French Provence, thus the lavender. When she said that environmental issues and elevating her brand are a priority, we thought letterpress and this amazing flower paper. Since we used the lavender motif in her logo we decided to print her gift certificates on this beautiful (and great smelling) flower paper. That way once her clients use them she can give them back to be planted in their garden. A beautiful flower patch can be a sweet smelling memory of their session together.
Thank you Tricia. And thank you Carrie for the amazing job, can wait to see your beautifully exfoliated hands.

Categories: freshly baked brandsThat’s right we actually do work for clients that are not photographers…WHAT??!! LA Stylist Mom is a blogsite started by the fabulous fashionista B, who worked as a stylist for recording artists, television, and editorial for over 10 years, before becoming a Mom herself and helping dress the rest of us who have also joined those ranks. Great friend to Identity Kitchen and the UnBride, design work for B was and is a pleasure and inspirational. Check out her blog daily for fantastic fashion tips. We designed both her identity and blogsite, programming was done by the amazing and ever patient Marty Thornley.
PS: Check out her cute twitter feed.

Categories: freshly baked brandsA little over a week ago, Justine Ungaro Photography and Identity Kitchen moved into our new digs in the Noho Lofts. We’ve also added the talented genius Mandee, who’s work and blog entries you can look forward to in future posts. She’s been with IDK for less than two weeks and I am wondering how we’ve been surviving without her. Yeah Mandee!!
We’re calling it the home of caffeine and estrogen. It’s been super fun and a real creative rush. Thought you might like to see a shot of that pink couch we have been twittering about.

Categories: The LoftWorking on Justine Ungaro’s new brand has been such a rewarding experience. She is not only the one who introduced me to the world of photography in the first place, but one of my closest friends. I’ve been wanting to get my paws on her brand for a while now.
Because of the dynamic person and photographer that Justine is, we wanted to really make a statement. She wanted a clean, sophisticated, one-of-a-kind, boutique look. We designed a custom font for her name and created her brand in white, white, white with whispers of pink and grey. Her cards are blind letter pressed, long and thin with rounded corners. Carrie at Anemone Press did a gorgeous job, we joked that she had to print them with white gloves on. In the end they were so perfect I believe she may have.

Next up was here new Web/Blogsite. Together with the amazing Téa at LinkArtist we created the next generation of photographers blogsites. It looks like a flash site, with all the update-ability and all the SEO ranking benefits of a blog. Wrapped up in one professionally streamlined looking package. The homepage has both a blog and twitter feed. We are most pleased with the results. Thank you Justine!
