Justine and I were lucky enough to be included with Tim Holmes of Reddoor Creative, on the B-School’s latest video titled Branding 101. We talk about some of the challenges of branding for photographers and what to expect from your designer, while I wave my hands around like a crazy Italian. Check Becker’s plug here. It was super fun!

Categories: Uncategorized, inspirationSaw this while I was doing some research on Jury Duty last week. Reminded me of my favorite show Mad Men. So wrong on so many levels. Are we gift wrapping the babies? Keeping their freshness in? My fav is the one trying to GET OUT!! Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day ;)
Off to the beach everyone. Will be back to the studio in a week, with a fresh head…I hope. Mandee will be around for emergencies, questions etc. I will be checking email. See ya’ll after the 17th!
We’ve set aside our first two donations for Charity Water. We only have to raise $5000 to sponsor new well. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to our goal. They are such an amazing organization. After having spent time in Senégal, we saw first hand how beneficial and organization like this can be. Check them out here if you would like to get involved directly.

Categories: make the world a better placeThe thing about building your brand or your identity is developing something that resonates with you both as a business, and in a creative business–as an artist. Then, of course, we need to be a bit more strategic about its implementation. Don’t be afraid to trust your gut, we identify with art and design on a subliminal level which should never be ignored.
I often ask clients to send me visuals that speak to them. I’ve received photographs of interiors, paintings, photographs, furniture, even shoes. These are so telling, even more than the words I ask to describe their work and/or business.
ARTIST SERIES – CARA OBER from drury bynum on Vimeo.
I saw this video by the artist Cara Ober and her work was something I felt as if I identified with. Then I saw this painting on her home page and it completely made me smile. It actually made me laugh out loud at myself. Think I may give myself a break from all this strategy and planning and go with my gut a little more this week.
What resonates with you?
