Early in 2009, Marty Thornley and I sat down to discuss a more efficient way for photographers to display their work online. We had both, separately, been working with photographers, and discussed the idea of an all-in-one blogsite that looks and feels like a flash site, with all the SEO benefits of a WordPress Blog. We made our wish list; social media integration, customization, easy-to-use backend, unlimited galleries, integration of fantastic photography tools like ShootQ, etc, etc. After developing many, many custom blogsites, we saw our theories in action and set out to develop Photography Blogsites. Affordable, Easy-to-use, WordPress Portfolio Websites for Photographers.

We are proud to announce our first three themes in both blogsite and blog-only forms: Latte, Espresso and Cuppa Joe. Because we believe in our product so much, we offer a 7-day free trial. Take our sites for a spin. You can upload your work, writes some posts, link your Twitter and Facebook, and even seamlessly switch between all our themes.

We are offering an introductory lifetime membership for $499. That includes all our themes (now and forever), 4 GB of hosting on our screaming fast servers, our support, maintenance and much, much more. For a full list of features visit our features section.

We’d love to hear your thoughts as we will keep developing our sites to be the best they can be. As always, thank you so much for your support!

My lack of blogging can only mean one thing, a slew of projects now coming off the press and from the CSS factory. So many projects in the work including a huge top secret one that will reveal itself at the end of this year. Lisa Carpenter knows the best way to move into a higher wedding market, to revisit her brand presence. She is a passionate photographer who describes her work as creative, intense, playful and full of emotion. She also wanted her final identity to feel very fashion forward, very Vanity Fair. The final result is this very energized silhouette, she suggests beauty, romantic nature and free spirit in a few strokes. The type is classic, giving the identity a feeling of and established brand. I had the pleasure of working with Téa from Linkartist, she was able to bring our blog design (www.lisacarpenterblog.com) to life. I’ll be adding posts later of the letter pressed business and note cards, and portrait and wedding promotional mailers. It has been so wonderful working with Lisa, I know it a little time to roll out her whole new look. She has been so patient and enthusiastic, that she makes my job as easy as pie. Thank you Lisa!

It’s very fast, and looks great. We wanted the feel to be stylish and classic with a little sport and nature thrown in there. I love the combination of the green and blue and wood grain. Reminds me of a cool new Ford Woody Beach Cruiser. Doug was so fantastic to work with, I just know he’s going to be a photographer to watch in the next few years.

I had the pleasure of meeting Doug Miranda at The Modern Portrait seminar in Los Angeles. He is a great wedding and portrait photographer up in Lake Tahoe (soon to move to Sacramento). He heard me speak to the participants about branding and he just got it. I’m showing the final logo today but we also did letterpress cards, offset cards and a new website is coming. I’ll post these as they go live and get printed. In the meantime, check out Doug’s work here: www.dougmiranda.com I just love how much nature he works into his photography, and did I mention he is just such a nice guy! Look for more of Doug’s postings to come.
